‘Name a more iconic duo’: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Clint Eastwood hit the slopes

Arnold Schwarzenegger is shredding. And no, we aren’t talking about his muscle.

“The Terminator” star, 72, hit the slopes with his close friend Clint Eastwood, 89, to enjoy a day of skiing ahead of the new year. And he shared photo proof on

“‪Name a more iconic duo. I’ll wait,” Schwarzenegger captioned a picturesque snapshot of himself and Eastwood in their winter gear on a snow-covered mountain.

And although some Instagram users tried to think of a better pairing (like, “Lennon and McCartney” and “mustard and ketchup”), others couldn’t think of a duo to top the Hollywood legends.

“Mount Rushmore level,” actor Rob Lowe commented, while “According to Jim” star Jim Belushi added, “Icons.”

Schwarzenegger and Eastwood’s friendship has spanned decades and, by the looks of  it, the pair will be skiing into 2020 together. In fact, Schwarzenegger considers the filmmaker one of his heroes.

“(Eastwood) is a big idol of mine and I always like to learn from him,” Schwarzenegger told Reuters in 2013.

Eastwood’s legendary, long-running career serves as an inspiration for the former professional bodybuilder and politician as he ages in Hollywood.

“In the future I have to adapt my roles to my age,” Schwarzenegger told the Hollywood Reporter in 2011. “Clint Eastwood also has done it in the same way. Extreme fighting or shooting is not possible anymore. I want to be more encouraged as an actor and I believe that I can manage this challenge. I am like a sponge, which is absorbing all the knowledge, and always be willing to learn all new things.”

Despite the fact he’ll turn 90 in May, Eastwood shows no signs of slowing down. The Oscar winner directed and produced “Richard Jewell,” a film about how the heroic security guard of the 1996 Olympic bombing wrongly became a suspect.

The movie, which stars Paul Walter Hauser, Sam Rockwell, Kathy Bates, Jon Hamm, and Olivia Wilde, hit theaters earlier this month.

In November, Schwarzenegger reprised his role of Carl in “Terminator: Dark Fate,” alongside Linda Hamilton, Mackenzie Davis and Natalia Reyes.
